The mo’edim of the Lord (appointed times) are the treasures which connect the Old and New Testaments. Jesus observed the biblical holidays and often used them to provide deeper insight into the Father’s plan and His promises to us. If they were important to Him, then there’s a lesson to be learned for us and application for greater boldness in our walk and witness for Him! Walk with Larry as he makes insightful connections through his lens as a Jewish follower of Jesus into the Jewish holidays of Hanukkah, Passover, and Sukkot. These feasts of the Lord are part of the rich inheritance we have as God’s children and, in some cases, like Sukkot, are part of our glorious future with Him.

Miracles of Hanukkah: The only biblical reference to a well-known winter holiday that Jesus celebrated is interestingly referred to as the “Feast of Dedication”. Larry’s Jewish people call it Hanukkah. This holiday commemorates a miraculous event that occurred during the inter-Testamental period, approximately 165 BC, and it holds much meaning for both Jews and Christians today.

Feast of Passover: Passover is not merely an historical narrative. Passover is meant to be experienced with the senses and in community yet personally as if each participant were reenacting the events recorded in the Old Testament. Jesus Himself observed Passover at the Last Supper and used its symbols to communicate profound truths. Through learning more about Passover in this DVD, you will be reminded of God’s sovereignty and merciful provision in liberating humanity from the bondage of sin and death through the Messiah. Walk with Larry as he highlights the symbols of Passover and recounts the amazing narrative of redemption.

Feast of Sukkot: Sukkot, or the Feast of Tabernacles, serves as a backdrop for the life story of Jesus and supplies great meaning for His followers who value their Old Testament heritage. It is a week-long joyous feast during which Larry’s fellow Jewish people construct and dwell in temporary shelters (aka sukkah booths) as a way of remembering their wilderness wanderings (Leviticus 23:42-43). Sukkot is unique among other festivals as Scripture tells us that one day people from all the nations of the world will celebrate it together (Zechariah 14:16). Until then, learn more about this fall feast of Israel that Jesus celebrated as part of the mo’edim. Along the way, you’ll praise the Lord for how He reveals more of His nature and His mission through Sukkot.
